Laura Dangerfield Stevens, flute

Laura Dangerfield Stevens (flute) is the Instructor of Flute and Director of the Flute Ensemble at High Point University. She is the principal flutist of the Western Piedmont Symphony, holds the piccolo position with the Salisbury Symphony, and performs with many orchestras throughout the east coast. Laura is a founding member of the Relevents Wind Quintet who made their critically acclaimed debut tour through Southern Germany in April 2009. She also traveled to Venezuela, South America with the Archipelago Project to teach and perform through El Sistema, a youth orchestra program. Laura is pursuing Doctorate of Musical Arts Degree at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She received the Bachelor of Music Degree from the Salem College School of Music and Master of Music Degree from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. She lives in Winston-Salem with her husband/composer, William R. Stevens, her daughter, Satie, and their three dogs, Naima, Phaedra, and Kendra
